I have been talking about ways of achieving financial success, and sometimes I wonder whether anybody listens or takes heed of the information I convey in the articles. Because I can tell you for sure that, if there is anything that will stop from achieving your goals or dreams is refusing to let go of old habits. I know, old habits die hard, but honestly speaking, if there is anything in your life that prevents you from achieving financial independence, is ignoring the fact that you need change in your life, and this applies to all aspects of your life not only financial. The following is an article in ‘Living Free’ website, that explains the difference between being right or becoming financial free.
For a significant part of my adult life, I walked around knowing a lot. I knew about more stuff than pretty much anyone I met. I also knew that when someone didn’t agree with me, it was simply because I knew more than they did. I was also broke and unhappy compared to my life now. I’ve run into a lot of people who live their life like that. Just like me, they aren’t malice or mean about it, they just “know”. But also just as I used to be, they are broke and unhappy in comparison to how life really could be for them.
I have since learned that poor people spend a lot of time running around proving that they are right. Putting on a mask of “knowing” is easy for broke people, because they have a ton of reason’s to choose from as to why they’re broke. The economy is bad, their parents didn’t teach them any better, their boss doesn’t know how to run the business, or hundreds of other reason why they can know everything but still be broke.
My favorite line I once heard was, “You can be right, or you can be rich. You can’t be both.” At this point, I’m sure you’re wondering why that is. Well, it’s simple really….being “right” means that you are holding on to your old ways of thinking. Unfortunately, these old ways of thinking are exactly why you ended up where you are right now.
The words I’m about to share aren’t really all that new, but somehow many people have forgotten. The same thoughts and actions equal the same results. That is the whole reason that I do what I do. Because I want to teach as many people as possible that they can achieve anything and everything they want simply by changing their thoughts and actions. You have to continually be open to learning new information and new ways of doing things. Nothing in this world stays the same. I run into people who say they “hate change”, but the fact of the matter is that change is all around us. Remember, we are either growing or we are dying. There is no staying the same. It is only by continuing to learn new information that you can continue to grow. So at the end of the day, the question isn’t what are you able to say to prove what you know, but rather what you are willing to do to learn?
